Pogonotriccus paulista

The São Paulo Tyrannulet, scientifically known as Pogonotriccus paulista, is a small passerine bird native to the Atlantic Forest of southeastern Brazil. This species is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, yellowish underparts, and a distinctive white eye-ring. It is often found foraging for insects in the dense understory of primary and secondary forests. The São Paulo Tyrannulet is known for its high-pitched calls and active behavior, frequently moving through the foliage in search of prey. Despite its small size, this bird plays an important role in the ecosystem as an insectivore, contributing to the control of insect populations in its habitat.
