Saffron Toucanet, Pteroglossus bailloni, is a toucan of the Atlantic Forest in south-eastern Brazil, eastern Paraguay and north-eastern Argentina. It belongs to the family Ramphastidae and was described by Vieillot in 1819. Its range is tied to forested habitat in this region. Among toucans it is notable for its saffron-yellow overall plumage, with darker upperparts and tail, red on the rump and around the eye, and a bill marked with greenish-horn tones and red at the base. Males and females differ in appearance, and young birds are mostly olive and grey.
