Sakalava Weaver, Ploceus sakalava, is a bird of north, west and south Madagascar in the family Ploceidae. It was described by Hartlaub in 1861. Its breeding range is in north-west, west and south Madagascar, where it lives in dry lowland forest and scrubland. It occurs in small flocks. The species is also known as Sakalava Fody. Its nest is roofed and woven from grass leaves, with palm frond or thatching strips also used, and it may include material gathered in villages.
