Falco cherrug
The Saker falcon is a large bird of prey known for its powerful and swift flight. It has a wingspan of about 105-129 cm and a body length of 47-55 cm. This majestic bird is characterized by its dark brown upperparts, pale underparts, and distinctive dark streaks on its belly. Saker falcons are known for their keen eyesight and strong talons, which they use to capture a variety of prey including small mammals and birds. These falcons inhabit open grasslands, steppes, and semi-desert regions, where they build their nests on cliffs or in abandoned raptor nests. Unfortunately, the Saker falcon is facing threats from habitat loss, pesticide use, and illegal hunting, leading to a decline in its population.
