Phylloscopus nesophilus
The Sakhalin leaf warbler (Phylloscopus nesophilus) is a small songbird found in the coniferous forests of Sakhalin Island and nearby regions. It is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, pale underparts, and distinct eye ring. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard during the breeding season. Sakhalin leaf warblers forage actively in the canopy, feeding on insects and larvae. They are migratory birds, wintering in Southeast Asia. Despite facing threats from habitat loss and climate change, the Sakhalin leaf warbler is not currently considered globally threatened.
