Thalassarche salvini
Salvin's albatross is a large seabird that belongs to the albatross family. It has a wingspan of approximately 2.5 meters and is known for its elegant gliding flight over the open ocean. This species is predominantly white with dark plumage on the upper wings and back. They are highly adapted for a life at sea and are capable of traveling vast distances in search of food. Salvin's albatross is known to breed on remote islands in the Southern Ocean, forming large colonies on steep cliffs and tussock-covered slopes. They are vulnerable to threats such as fisheries bycatch and habitat degradation, and their conservation status is currently listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
