Salvin's pachyramphus

Pachyramphus salvini

Salvin's pachyramphus is a small passerine bird native to the forests of Central and South America. It is characterized by its distinctive black and white plumage, with a black head, back, and wings, and a white belly and throat. This species is known for its melodious song, often heard in the forest understory. Salvin's pachyramphus primarily feeds on insects and small fruits, foraging in the dense vegetation of its habitat. It prefers humid tropical forests and is often found in the mid to upper levels of the canopy. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential risks to its population.
