Salvin's Prion, Pachyptila salvini, is a petrel of the southern Indian Ocean, breeding on Prince Edward and Crozet islands. Outside the breeding season it ranges to southern African waters and southern Australasian waters. It is a small seabird with grey and white plumage and a blue bill. The bill has lamellae for filtering seawater for food. It nests colonially in burrows, with colonies visited at night. The species was described by Mathews in 1912.
