San Blas jay

The San Blas jay (Cyanocorax sanblasianus) is a striking bird native to the Pacific coast of Mexico. This medium-sized jay is known for its vibrant blue plumage on the head, wings, and tail, contrasting with a black mask and white underparts. It is a social and vocal species, often found in small groups foraging for fruits, insects, and small vertebrates. The San Blas jay is an adaptable species, thriving in a variety of habitats including tropical forests, mangroves, and urban areas. While currently not assessed by the IUCN, its population is believed to be stable across its range.
