Sangihe Scops Owl, Otus collari, lives on Sangihe in the north of Sulawesi, within Australasia, and is confined to that island group. It is a member of the owl family Strigidae and was described by Lambert & Rasmussen in 1998. The bird is relatively small, with long narrow wings, a small beak and tail, weak toes and claws, and ear tufts of moderate length. Its plumage is brown with dark streaking, and the face shows a touch of white above the eyes. The eyes are yellow with red pupils.
