Coracornis sanghirensis
The Sangihe Shrikethrush is a small, elusive bird species found in the dense undergrowth of montane forests on the Indonesian islands of Sangihe and Talaud. It has a distinctive olive-brown plumage with a white belly and a reddish-brown tail. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard during the early morning and late afternoon. The Sangihe Shrikethrush forages for insects and small invertebrates on the forest floor, using its sharp bill to probe leaf litter and fallen branches. Due to its restricted range and habitat loss, this species is considered vulnerable to extinction.
