Santa Marta Screech Owl, Megascops gilesi, is an owl of the Strigidae family that breeds in the north-east of Colombia, in the north-western Santa Marta Mountains. It was described by Krabbe in 2017, but a specimen from 1919 had already been suspected to represent a separate form. It is known only from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The bird is a medium-sized Megascops owl, with a reddish to greyish-brown upperpart pattern, a pale underside, barred crown and back, streaked chest, barred belly, and golden-buff feathering on the tarsi.
