Sao Paulo Bristle Tyrant, Pogonotriccus paulista, is a passerine of the Atlantic Forest in south-eastern Brazil, eastern Paraguay and north-eastern Argentina. It was first described in 1907 by Hermann von Ihering and Rodolpho von Ihering. The bird is a year-round resident and is placed in the tyrant flycatcher family Tyrannidae. Its breeding range covers south-eastern Paraguay, north-eastern Argentina and south-eastern Brazil. It is a monotypic species, with no recognised subspecies. The English name reflects São Paulo state, where the type locality was recorded.
