This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the dense rainforests where it resides. The Sao Tome Oriole is an insectivorous bird, foraging for insects and small invertebrates in the forest canopy. Despite being a small bird, it plays a significant role in the ecosystem as a predator of various insect species. However, due to habitat loss and potential predation by invasive species, the conservation status of the Sao Tome Oriole is currently listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
