Eurostopodus diabolicus

The Satanic Nightjar is a cryptic and elusive bird species found in the forests of New Guinea. This nocturnal bird is known for its haunting calls and remarkable camouflage, making it a challenge to spot in the wild. With a wingspan of around 50-60 cm, the Satanic Nightjar has a distinctive mottled plumage that provides excellent camouflage against the forest floor. It primarily feeds on insects, which it catches in flight using its wide gape. Due to its secretive nature and remote habitat, much about the Satanic Nightjar's behavior and ecology remains unknown to scientists.
