Savi's Warbler

Locustella luscinioides

Savi's Warbler is a small, secretive bird species belonging to the family Acrocephalidae. It is known for its distinctive song, a rattling trill that is often heard in reed beds and marshy areas. This warbler has a brownish upper body with streaked plumage and a pale underbelly. It has a relatively long bill and a short tail. Savi's Warbler is primarily insectivorous, foraging for insects and larvae in dense vegetation. It breeds in reed beds and wetlands across Europe and western Asia, and migrates to sub-Saharan Africa for the winter. Despite facing threats from habitat loss and degradation, the species is currently classified as Least Concern by the IUCN.
