Saw-billed Hermit Ramphodon naevius is a hummingbird of the family Trochilidae, breeding in south-eastern Brazil. It is the only species in its genus and has no subspecies. Within the hermit group it is the one that most closely resembles the typical hummingbirds. It occurs in a narrow belt of the Atlantic Forest, where it uses the understorey of humid coastal forest up to 500 m. Both sexes show serrations on the bill, and the male also has a hooked tip. It was described by Dumont in 1818.
