Scaled Piculet, Picumnus squamulatus, is a woodpecker of Colombia and Venezuela in South America. It was described by Lafresnaye in 1854. It lives in semi-open and open country, including gallery forest, forest margins, secondary growth, deciduous woodland, farmland with scattered trees and pastures, and it has been recorded up to 1,900 m. The bird is a year-round resident across its range. Its plumage is marked by a scaly look on the upperparts and underparts, which gives the species its name.
