Scaled Quail

The Scaled Quail, also known as the blue quail, is a ground-dwelling bird found in arid regions of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. Scaled Quails are social birds often found in coveys, foraging for seeds, insects, and vegetation. They are known for their distinctive call, a series of melodious notes. Their preferred habitats include open grasslands, shrublands, and desert scrub. Scaled Quails are considered a species of least concern by the IUCN, with stable populations across their range.
