Scalloped Antbird

Scalloped Antbird, Myrmoderus ruficauda, is a passerine of the antbird family that breeds in eastern and south-eastern Brazil. It is a resident bird of semie-humid and humid evergreen forest, mature secondary woodland, and dense understorey with vine tangles, usually below 650 m and up to 950 m. The species is mainly terrestrial and is found in a broken range. It was once placed in Myrmeciza, but is now treated in Myrmoderus. Two subspecies are recognised, with M. r. soror larger and paler than the nominate form.
