Scaly Babbler

Turdoides squamulata

The Scaly Babbler (Turdoides squamulata) is a medium-sized bird found in the Indian subcontinent. It has a distinctive scaly pattern on its plumage, with a mix of brown, gray, and white colors. These social birds are often found in small groups, foraging for insects and small invertebrates in scrublands, open forests, and cultivated areas. They have a melodious and varied song, often heard during the breeding season. The Scaly Babbler is not currently considered to be at risk, and its population is stable.
