Scaly-breasted Bulbul, Ixodia squamata, occurs in the Oriental Region from the Malay Peninsula to Borneo. It is a bulbul in the order Passeriformes, and it was first described by Temminck in 1828. Its range also includes the Malay Peninsula and Borneo, with subspecies recorded on the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Java and Borneo. The species is associated with subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It is affected by habitat loss.
