Scaly-breasted Cupwing, Pnoepyga albiventer, is a bird of the Himalayas through Myanmar and north-west Vietnam, breeding in the Oriental Region. It belongs to the cupwing family, Pnoepygidae, and was described by Hodgson in 1837. It lives in subtropical moist montane forest, usually close to water. The species makes some altitudinal movements, shifting to lower ground in winter in parts of its range. The Taiwan cupwing was once treated as part of it, and the Chinese cupwing has also been included within this species.
