Scaly-breasted Lorikeet, Trichoglossus chlorolepidotus, is an Australian lorikeet that breeds in eastern Australia from se Cape York Pen. through ne QLD to ec NSW. It is found in timbered country, especially open, lightly wooded places, and also uses melaleuca thickets. Its name reflects the breast pattern, with yellow feathers edged in green so the plumage looks scaled. Heinrich Kuhl first described it in 1820. It is also recorded from some offshore islands, and it can occur in gardens and parklands, including in large cities.
