Zoothera dauma (Latham, 1790)

Scaly Thrush Zoothera dauma is a thrush of the Oriental Region, breeding from the Himalayas to Sumatra and Java. It belongs to the family Turdidae and was described by Latham in 1790. It is a secretive bird that keeps to dense cover, and its nest is placed in trees. The nest is a neat cup, and it contains three or four dull green eggs. It feeds on a broad mix of insects, earthworms and berries. In flight, it can be recognised by the black band across the white underwings.
