Scarce Swift, Schoutedenapus myoptilus, is a swift in the family Apodidae and breeds in eastern and east-central Africa. It is the only member of Schoutedenapus. Its range is split across the Afromontane region, including the Cameroon line, the Albertine Rift montane forests, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Mozambique. Schouteden’s Swift was once treated as a separate species, but it is now regarded as a darker juvenile or sub-adult form of Scarce Swift subspecies chapini.
