Scarlet-breasted Flowerpecker, Prionochilus thoracicus, is a bird of the Dicaeidae family that breeds in the Oriental Region, including the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Lingga and Belitung islands east of Sumatra, and Borneo. It was described by Temminck in 1836. The species is part of the flowerpecker group within the passerines. Its range extends across Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
