Scarlet Minivet, Pericrocotus speciosus, is a passerine in the cuckooshrike family, breeding across the Oriental Region from the Himalayas to Indonesia and the Philippines. It inhabits forests and other well-wooded places, including gardens, and is especially associated with hilly country. The species was described by Latham in 1790. In most subspecies, males are scarlet to orange with black upper parts, while females are usually yellow with greyish olive upper parts. Some former subspecies have been treated as separate species in recent work, including the orange minivet.
