Scarlet Minivet

Pericrocotus solaris

The Scarlet Minivet, scientifically known as Pericrocotus solaris, is a striking bird found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. This small to medium-sized bird is known for its vibrant plumage, with the male sporting a brilliant scarlet coloration, while the female exhibits a combination of yellow and gray. These minivets are often observed foraging for insects and small fruits in the upper canopy of trees, where they display agile and acrobatic flight patterns.
