Scarlet Minivet

The Scarlet Minivet is a small passerine bird found in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. The male is striking with its bright scarlet plumage, while the female is more subdued with gray upperparts and yellow underparts. These birds inhabit various forest types, including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, and are often found in the canopy or mid-levels of the trees. They are known for their melodious whistling calls and are often seen in small groups foraging for insects. The Scarlet Minivet is not globally threatened and is categorized as a species of Least Concern by the IUCN.
