Scarlet-rumped Trogon, Harpactes duvaucelii, is a resident bird of the Oriental Region, breeding in the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, the Batu Islands, the Riau Islands, Bangka and Belitung, the Natuna Islands and Borneo. It belongs to the trogon family and is known for its small size and reddish rump, which set it apart from other trogons. It was named by Temminck in 1824. The species lives in lowland forests and is associated with the middle levels of the forest, including places with lianas.
