Scarlet-shouldered Parrotlet, Touit huetii, is a parrot of Amazonia in South America, where it occurs in lowland forests. It is part of the Psittacidae family and is recorded from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru and Venezuela, with possible presence in Suriname. It is also a vagrant to Trinidad and Tobago. Its most striking feature is the red on the wing and underwing, set against an otherwise green body. The species is monotypic and was described by Temminck in 1830.
