Dives warczewiczi (Cabanis, 1861)

Icteridae — Oropendolas, New World Orioles, Blackbirds

Scrub Blackbird, Dives warczewiczi, is a passerine of the Icteridae family in South America, breeding from far south-west Colombia through western Ecuador to western Peru as far south as western Cuzco. It is a resident bird of semi-open and open country, including scrub, woodland edges, cultivated land, orchards, parks, gardens, and built-up areas. In drier parts of southern Ecuador and northern Peru it uses gallery forest, oases, and irrigated fields rather than the driest ground. It has a long tail and notably large legs and feet, and both sexes are entirely black.
