Selva Cacique, Cacicus koepckeae, is a bird of the Icteridae family found in Peru, where it lives in subtropical and tropical moist lowland forest. It was described by Lowery & O'Neill in 1965. In eastern Peru it occurs in Ucayali, Cusco and Madre de Dios, and also in adjoining Acre State in north-western Brazil. It favours dense riverside growth near small rivers and streams in lowland country and lower foothills. The bird is uncommon and elusive, and habitat loss is reducing its numbers.
