Poicephalus senegalus (Linnaeus, 1766)

Senegal Parrot, Poicephalus senegalus, is a resident breeder across western Africa. It lives in open woodland and savanna, and it also makes movements within the region in step with food availability. A notable feature is the yellow-and-green front pattern that forms a V, with the exact shade of the vest differing between the two subspecies. The nominate form occurs from Senegal through southern Mauritania and southern Mali to Guinea and Lobos Island, while P. s. versteri ranges from Ivory Coast and Ghana east to western Nigeria.
