Sepia-brown Wren, Cinnycerthia olivascens, is a wren of the Andes in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. It was described by Sharpe in 1882 and belongs to the family Troglodytidae. The bird is associated with wet mossy forest and cloudforest, including both interior and edge habitat. Its range runs through the Central and Western Andes of Colombia south into Ecuador and reaches extreme northern Peru, with the bogotensis form limited to the western slope of Colombia’s Eastern Andes. It is also known as Sharpe’s wren, and the two subspecies differ in overall darkness and facial white.
