Seram Friarbird, Philemon subcorniculatus, is a honeyeater found on Seram in the Moluccas, where it breeds in Australasia. It belongs to the family Meliphagidae and was described by Hombron and Jacquinot in 1841. This bird is the largest member of its family. It is also closely matched by the grey-collared oriole, which copies it very closely. The species occurs in lowland forest and mangrove habitat on Seram Island, and it is common and easy to notice there, often appearing in small parties of up to four birds.
