Sharp-tailed Canastero

Geositta saxicolina

The Sharp-tailed Canastero is a small bird species found in the Andes of South America. It is known for its distinctive sharp tail and cryptic plumage, which provides excellent camouflage in its rocky habitat. These birds are often observed foraging on the ground for insects and small invertebrates. They are typically solitary and elusive, making them challenging to spot. The species is not currently considered to be globally threatened, but it may face localized pressures due to habitat degradation and human disturbance.
