Sharpe's Rosefinch

Sharpe's Rosefinch, Carpodacus verreauxii, is a finch of the Hengduan Mountains in the south-eastern Palearctic, breeding in western and southern Sichuan, far north-east Myanmar and north-west Yunnan in south-west China. It uses montane edges, scrub and alpine meadows, and moves to lower elevations outside the breeding season. It is a medium-sized, slim rosefinch with a relatively small bill and a long, slightly notched tail. The species was named for the British zoologist Richard Bowdler Sharpe. Its call is a short, sharp metallic spink spink.
