Shear-tailed Grey Tyrant, Muscipipra vetula, is a passerine of the Tyrannidae family that breeds in south-east Brazil, eastern Paraguay and north-east Argentina. It lives along the margins of humid forest and in secondary woodland, and is also recorded in nearby clearings and grassland. It is the only species in its genus. Adults are mostly dull dark grey above, with dusky ear coverts that create a mask, a white chin and throat, a dark grey breast, and a pale grey belly. Its tail is long, narrow and deeply notched.
