Shelley's Oliveback (Nesocharis shelleyi) is a small passerine bird found in the tropical forests of West Africa. It is known for its striking plumage, with the male displaying a vibrant combination of olive-green and crimson, while the female has a more subdued coloration. These birds are often found in small flocks, foraging for seeds and insects in the dense undergrowth. They have a melodious song and are known for their acrobatic displays during courtship. Due to habitat loss and trapping for the pet trade, the conservation status of Shelley's Oliveback is currently listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
