Melionyx nouhuysi (van Oort, 1910)

Short-bearded Honeyeater, Melionyx nouhuysi, is a honeyeater of high montane western New Guinea in Australasia. It occurs mainly in West Papua and lives in moist montane forest. The bird was once included in Melidectes, but a molecular study published in 2019 led to its transfer to Melionyx. Its English name was also updated at that time, changing from short-bearded melidectes to Short-bearded Honeyeater.
