Short-crested Monarch, Hypothymis helenae, is a monarch in the Philippines, breeding across the Oriental Region on Luzon, Camiguin Norte, Polilio, Catanduanes, Samar, Dinagat and Mindanao, but not in the Palawan group, Mindoro, West Visayas or the Sulu Arch. It is a bird of tropical moist lowland forest. Males show black facial markings, an electric blue eyering and a short crest, with a pearly white belly. The species was described by Steere in 1890.
