Short-legged Ground Roller, Brachypteracias leptosomus, is a bird of north-western and eastern Madagascar, where it breeds in humid tropical lowland forest. It is the only living member of Brachypteracias and is the most arboreal ground roller. It has a large head and bill, a puffy throat, and short legs for the family, while its wings are the longest in the group. It is found mainly in mature closed forest with large trees, and is rarely recorded in disturbed woodland.
