Siberian Rosefinch

Carpodacus sibiricus

The Siberian Rosefinch, scientifically known as Carpodacus sibiricus, is a striking bird species found in the mountainous regions of Asia. This medium-sized finch is known for its vibrant plumage, with the males displaying a brilliant rose-red coloration on their heads, backs, and breasts. The females and juveniles have more subdued plumage, with a mixture of brown and gray tones. These birds are often found in alpine and subalpine habitats, where they forage for seeds, berries, and insects. Their melodious songs can often be heard echoing through the mountain valleys. While the Siberian Rosefinch is not currently considered to be at risk, its population may be affected by habitat loss and climate change.
