Siberian Thrush

Zoothera dauma

The Siberian Thrush (Zoothera dauma) is a medium-sized thrush found in the forests and woodlands of Siberia, northern China, and parts of Japan. This migratory bird is known for its striking appearance, with a dark brown back, creamy white underparts, and a distinctive spotted breast. It has a melodious song and is often seen foraging for insects, berries, and small invertebrates on the forest floor. The Siberian Thrush is known for its long-distance migrations, traveling thousands of kilometers to winter in Southeast Asia. Despite facing threats from habitat loss and climate change, the Siberian Thrush is not currently considered to be at risk of extinction.
