Turdus arthuri
The Sichuan Forest Thrush (Turdus arthuri) is a medium-sized thrush species found in the mountainous regions of central China. It is characterized by its olive-brown upperparts, creamy-white underparts, and distinctive white eye-ring. This species is known for its melodious and flute-like song, often heard echoing through the dense forests where it resides. Sichuan Forest Thrushes are primarily insectivorous, foraging on the forest floor for insects, worms, and berries. They prefer dense, moist, and mossy forests at elevations between 1,500 and 3,500 meters. Despite their limited range and specific habitat requirements, the conservation status of the Sichuan Forest Thrush is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
