Sick's Antwren

Terenura sicki

The Sick's Antwren (Terenura sicki) is a small passerine bird found in the Amazon rainforest of South America. It is known for its distinctive black and white plumage, with the male displaying a black crown and back, and the female having a black cap and olive-green upperparts. This species is often found in the understory of dense, humid forests, where it forages for insects and small invertebrates. The Sick's Antwren is known for its high-pitched vocalizations and complex social behaviors, often forming mixed-species foraging flocks with other small birds. While its population size is not well-documented, it is believed to be relatively stable within its range.
