Sierra Nevada Brushfinch, Arremon basilicus, is a passerine of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in northern Colombia, where it is confined to humid montane forest. It belongs to the New World sparrows and was first described by Bangs in 1898. The bird is a resident of this isolated mountain system and is found from 600 to 2,800 m. It is most often associated with undergrowth along forest edges, and its range is limited to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in South America.
