Lichmera argentauris
The Silver-eared Honeyeater (Lichmera argentauris) is a small passerine bird native to the forests and woodlands of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. This species is known for its distinctive silver ear patches and olive-green upperparts. The underparts are pale yellow with a hint of olive, and the wings are dark with a flash of bright yellow. Silver-eared Honeyeaters primarily feed on nectar, insects, and fruits, using their slender, curved bills to extract nectar from flowers. They are often observed in small groups, foraging actively in the canopy. This species is not currently considered threatened, and its population is believed to be stable.
